Below, you will see an organization chart of how a troop is structured. Your troop may not be exactly the same, but it should be similar. This chart displays most of the roles that are available in the troop and what their relation is to the other roles of a troop. Every 6 to 12 months your troop will hold an election, this time varies from troop to troop, so be sure to ask another Scout or adult leader what your troop does, and at each election the troop votes on who takes each position. Again, this varies from troop to troop; some troops don't elect every position. Positions listed above the Patrol Leader's Council are not voted on. Your troop may have more than one ASPL or Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. Once a month, the PLC (Patrol Leader's Council) will meet to discuss and decide what activities they would like to do at the next several meetings. The PLC is led by the Senior Patrol Leader, and they are advised by their ASPL(s) and the adult leaders at the meeting.
